Softgel capsules

 

Soft-shelled (elastic) capsules are used for packing liquids (chiefly oils) and suspensions (pulverised solid substances dispersed in oily liquid). Water extracts are not encapsulated as large water concentrations might dissolve the coating of the capsule. Encapsulation of a liquid supplement masks its unpleasant taste or smell, and makes it easier to swallow. The colour of the capsule may be adjusted to the Client's needs by adding appropriate food dyes. Soft-shelled capsules ensure accurate dosage of the dietary supplement and effectively protects the supplement from light and changes caused by oxidation.
